At midnight on June 1, 2023, the Polish border will be closed for trucks registered in Belarus and Russia. The corresponding decree was signed by Mariusz Kaminsky, Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Poland. This decision was made by the authorities of the country in connection with the requirements of public safety.
Which vehicles from Russia and Belarus will be prohibited from crossing the Polish-Belarusian border:
- for trucks;
- for truck tractors;
- for trailers and semi-trailers;
- for transport compositions.
We remind you that trucks from Belarus and Russia have been banned from entering the territory of the European Union since April 2022, in connection with which carriers use various methods of cargo operations to partially circumvent sanctions.
The new resolution of Poland implies a ban on the rehooking by Belarusian and Russian trucks by European business entities. Reloading of goods is still relevant, but this option is more expensive than rehooking and requires more time.
Nevertheless, despite the new ban by the Polish authorities, the Belarusian Customs Committee will continue to make every effort to develop foreign economic activity.
